Melbourne · Gaming Blog · Est. 2016
Deep strategy guides, honest reviews and the tactics behind the games we can't put down — mapped out from our desk in Fitzroy.
Who we are
Steel Battle Heroes started in 2016 as a shared Google Doc between five friends arguing about tier lists over pints on Brunswick Street. Nine years on, we're still argumentative — but now we log every playthrough, timestamp every boss fight and back our calls with hours on the clock.
We cover strategy, RPGs, co-op and the indie scene. No review score goes live under 20 hours of play, no guide ships untested, and no publisher pays for a verdict. Just Melbourne gamers mapping the good stuff.

How we work
Four steps between a fresh release and a verdict you can trust. No skipping to base camp.
We play to the credits and beyond, logging hours, difficulty and every bug we trip over.
A second contributor replays the tricky sections so guides work on more than one setup.
We write it up, cross-check patch notes and confirm prices in AUD before anything is published.
Guides get updated after major patches, so a bookmark from launch still holds a year later.

From the readers
Your macro guide got me from Platinum to Diamond in a fortnight. It's the only site I've found that explains the why, not just the build order.
I stopped pre-ordering because of these reviews. The buy/wait/skip call has saved me a couple of hundred dollars this year alone.
The indie spotlight covered our tiny studio before anyone else would answer an email. Genuine, well-researched, and they actually finished the demo.
